4 de Junho: Petrobras Film Festival
The Petrobras  Film Festival is back in New York! The annual event brings Brazilian  films to the US and culminates with a closing night ceremony and  concert in Central Park. The festival begins on Saturday and runs  through June 12th at Tribeca Cinemas.
You'll  note that Olhos  Azuis will be playing, so definitely check it out if you have a  chance. A number of Brazilian stars will be in town for the festival:  Cristina Lagos, the Brazilian heroine in Olhos Azuis, Daniele Suzuki,  host of the Brazilian TV show Tribos and an actress in  the film Os Normais 2, as  well as celebrity singer/actress Rita Cadillac, who stars in a documentary about  her life and career. You can read more about the films that will be  featured here.  Plus, DJ Marcelo Brasil will be playing every night in the festival  lounge, from June 5 - 11. 
Also exciting: on closing  night, Mariu  Gadu and Os Paralamas do Sucesso will be playing for free at SummerStage in Central Park. They  will also be showing a documentary about Oscar Niemeyer and announcing  the Crystal Lens Award for the best film. The event begins at 7PM on  June 12th, at Rumsey Playfield located at 72nd Street and 5th Avenue.
